My white knuckle ride with Mick !

Created by Trev one year ago
I first met Mick when I was a fresh faced, 18 year old special constable, and Mick was a traffic officer, I enjoyed several tours of duty with Mick, one very cold, snowy winter night we were called to Gosberton to attend a serious RTA, snow & ice covered the road and Mick showed a masterclass in driving that Granada 2.8, something akin to a professional rally driver ! Upon arrival it was carnage, a HGV versus a car,  with driver trapped, only Mick and myself on scene, I've never forgotten Micks professionalism that night, and how he went up a gear when we realised the trapped driver was in Police uniform (on his way home after finishing a shift in Spalding I believe) all involved made full recoveries, Mick taught me a lot that night, we remained friends ever since, and we often reminisced about that night, Mick was a true professional, he had patience and humour.... Many of us are going to miss you my friend, but we all have many good memories.
